Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has cancelled his visit to London due to the prevailing flood situation in the country.
According to state media, the premier had to leave for London to visit his granddaughter who is under treatment in a hospital in London.
PM Shehbaz has also called a meeting over the flood situation and ongoing relief operations countrywide. According to media reports, the PM has issued instructions for holding a meeting on his arrival in Pakistan after the completion of his two-day official visit to Qatar.
National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and other relevant departments would give a briefing about the steps taken to rescue the people affected due to floods.
Qatar had agreed to make investments of up to $3 billion in Pakistan to cement bilateral ties between the two countries.
According to reports, Qatar will make immediate investments in multiple sectors in Pakistan.
