PM Shehbaz praises Pak volleyball team for becoming Asian champions

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the Pakistan men’s volleyball team for winning the Central Asian Volleyball Championship.

PM Shehbaz on Wednesday tweeted, “It is a testament to our player’s grit, determination, and hard work in reviving Pakistan’s glory in the arena of sports.”

Pakistan won the Central Asian Volleyball Championship after defeating Iran 3-1 on Tuesday.

The first two sets were won by the home team by scores of 16 and 25 respectively. Iran, however, fought back to win the third set by a score of 25–23.

Pakistan Volleyball Federation also congratulated the national team on winning the Engro Central Asian Volleyball Championship 2022.

Pakistan dominated the fourth set and won the match to claim the title.

The five-nation competition was held for the first time in Pakistan after 17 years. The Sports Board Punjab’s Gymnasium Hall served as the venue for the event.

Pakistan, Iran, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan participated in the volleyball event.
