PM Shehbaz Sharif reaches Peshawar to oversee situation after blast

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reached Peshawar on Monday evening to oversee the conditions after a horrific blast inside a mosque.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated the nation’s will and unity to eradicate terrorism from the country on Monday and strongly denounced the attack that occurred in a mosque at Peshawar Police Lines.

In a statement, he said that killing Muslims while they were worshipping was against Islamic teaching and that the attack on a mosque was proof the attackers were unrelated to Islam.

He reaffirmed his determination to get rid of those waging war against Pakistan, saying that the terrorists aimed to spread fear by attacking people defending the nation.

“We shall set an example for those who murder innocent people. The entire country, including its institutions, is united against terrorism “He remarked.

The prime minister announced that the federal government will help the provinces develop their capabilities to combat terrorism.

He instructed the federal interior minister to support the provinces’ counterterrorism units, especially Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in building up their capabilities.

The prime minister prayed for the souls of the deceased to rest in peace and for the strength of their grieving families to bear the loss.
