PM Shehbaz to leave for London on Sunday for Queen’s funeral

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will leave for London on Sunday to represent Pakistan at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and meet Nawaz Sharif.

According to reports, PM Shehbaz has been scheduled to meet the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Supremo Nawaz Sharif. Reports have claimed that Shehbaz Sharif has a three-hour-long meeting already scheduled with his elder brother on the day he will touch down in the UK.

The PM has a busy day in London where a number of his engagements are already scheduled.

On Monday, PM Shehbaz will represent Pakistan at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and will return back to Islamabad after attending the state funeral.

The late queen passed away at her Balmoral Castle residence at the age of 96 on September 8. Her coffin is lying at the historic Westminster Hall since Wednesday.

Other world leaders including US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, Australian, Canadian, Japanese Emperor and other countries leaders will join the funeral ceremony.

According to media reports, PM Shehbaz will brief elder Sharif on the economic and political situation including political and economic conditions. Soaring inflation that has drawn criticism over the PML-N-led coalition government would be discussed in the meeting.

Media reports have claimed that Nawaz Sharif has been absolutely unhappy with the current government’s economic policies. Reports have also said that PML-N Supremo was not in favour of forming the going and had suggested going into elections.
