Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) announcement of a $1 billion investment in Pakistan.
PM Shehbaz spoke to UAE President Sheikh Muhammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday over various issues including investment in multiple economic and investment sectors in Pakistan.
UAE’s state news agency WAM had reported in the previous week over the kingdom’s intention of $1 billion in various sectors of Pakistani companies.
According to the PM office, Shehbaz Sharif during his telephonic conversation, highlighted and thanked UAE’s support to Pakistan over the years. Matters of common interest were discussed between the two leaders. Both agreed on working closely to enhance bilateral cooperation.
PM Shehbaz offered condolence over the damage due to recent floods and the loss of precious lives in the UAE. The UAE president also expressed grief over the loss of lives in recent floods in Pakistan and the martyrdom of army personnel in a helicopter crash.
The two leaders also reviewed progress over PM Shehbaz’s recent visit to UAE and showed resolve to strengthen trade and economic ties.
