Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has summoned the federal cabinet’s special session to discuss one-point agenda that is related to the appointment of the new army chief. Sources said that the PM is expected to approve the appointment of the new army chief after holding consultations with cabinet members. Meanwhile, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb on Tuesday rebutted rumours about the cancellation of PM Shehbaz’s upcoming visit to Turkiye. “Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken no decision to cancel his visit to Turkiye,” she said in a news statement.
COAS visits Quetta Garrison
Separately, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa Tuesday paid a farewell visit to Quetta Garrison where he interacted with troops and laid a wreath on the martyr’s monument. He appreciated efforts and contributions of the corps and its formations towards peace and stability in the province.
