The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) warned on Thursday that due to today’s solar eclipse, there is extremely little chance of seeing the Eid ul Fitr moon.
According to the Met Office, there are extremely few possibilities for Pakistan and other countries to see the moon because of the solar eclipse. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will convene to observe the Shawwal moon today (Thursday) in Islamabad.
The Ruet-e-Halal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad will preside over the meeting, according to a statement from the religious affairs ministry last week. It will take place at the religious affairs ministry in the capital.
The statement also mentioned the sites around the country where the zonal committee meetings will take place.
The secretary general of the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council Khalid Aijaz previously ruled out the likelihood of seeing the moon on April 20.
