The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership has decided to take action against the former finance minister and party’s senior leader Miftah Ismail.

According to local media reports, to adopt a “clear stand” against the party, the PML-N leadership has decided to take action against former finance minister Miftah Ismail.

Miftah Ismail is thought to be influenced by former army commander Qamar Javed Bajwa, as per sources cited by local media. They stated that Miftah Ismail received the same justification for his appointment as finance minister in 2017.

The objections of former prime minister and party leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, according to reports citing PML-N leadership, will be addressed because they are “legitimate,” they stated.

Miftah Ismail stated earlier in December that Pakistan’s risk of default has increased and urged the government to take action to stop the impending danger.

The former finance wizard stated in an interview with a private news network that he made difficult decisions while serving as finance minister with the support of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The PML-N leader further asserted that until the International Monetary Fund (IMF) entered the discussion, Pakistan’s default risk would not decrease.
