PML-N targets judiciary in show of solidarity with Hamza

Party leaders say they will not accept any 'ex-parte decision this time'

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders on Saturday targeted the judiciary in its power show at the Liberty roundabout to express solidarity with Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz, saying that they would never accept an “ex-parte decision this time”.

The PML-N leaders said they faced injustice in the past and served imprisonment but they would not sit “silent this time over any possible ex-parte decision”.

A larger number of party workers, including women, were seen holding party flags and banners.  Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) workers were also present there.

Addressing the crowd, Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique said: “There will be no stability in the country if any ex-parte decision is announced.”

He stated that the main reason behind the trouble is the “wrong interpretation of Article 63-A of the constitution”. Rafique said that it must be interpreted correctly.

The PML-N leader made it clear that the PML-N was not running away from general elections. “You think we will run away and there will be general elections and you will win through your fake narrative,” he said while referring to PTI chairman Imran Khan.

He warned Imran that they would not let him succeed if he continued to create hurdles for the PML-N. “We will not let you succeed if the PML-N is pushed against the wall,” he said while mentioning that there would be no elections if political upheavals continued.

He stated that general elections would be held on time and a decision to this effect will be made by politicians.

Punjab Home Minister Ata Tarar also addressed the gathering and chanted slogans against Imran Khan. Tarar also read some poetic verses to motivate PML-N workers.

Referring to the court verdict in the Panama case, he said: “Our leader [Nawaz Sharif] was ousted on the basis of an Iqama.” He added that Imran Khan used abusive language and got the decision of his choice.

“We will not accept the verdict of the Supreme Court until a full court is formed to hear the matter,” he added.

Talking about PML-Q parliamentary leader, Tarar said that they did not know when Sajid Bhatti was made parliamentary leader.

He also asked party workers to hold Imran Khan accountable over “Toshakhana”.  He reiterated support for Punjab CM Hamza Shehbaz, who was made ‘Trustee Punjab chief minister’, saying that he was the CM and would remain so.

In his address, Rana Mashhood said the Liberty show proved that Lahore belonged to the PML-N, asking why PML-N workers were being punished.

“Mian Nawaz Sharif always stood for the country’s progress. Whenever the country faced any crisis, it was PML-N led by Nawaz Sharif that took it out of crisis,” said Mashhood.

He regretted that whenever the country started making progress people like Imran Khan were introduced.

“In 2018, he said, a selected person was imposed, who led the country towards economic instability. “He sold Kashmir, got legislation for Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav and put the State Bank of Pakistan under control of foreigners,” he maintained.

He claimed that the country will prosper under the leadership of PM Shehbaz, Punjab CM Hamza Shehbaz and under the guidance of Nawaz Sharif.

It might be mentioned that the PTI chose Liberty roundabout to stage a protest against the Punjab government of Hamza Shehbaz on Friday.
