PML-N’s defeat its funeral, party buried by Zardari, says Rasheed

Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed has said that Pakistan People’s Party co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari “buried” the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, following the latter’s defeat in the by-polls in Punjab on Sunday.

While addressing a press conference, Rasheed said that the victory of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was a laboratory test in which the verdict was given by the nation in favour of Imran Khan.

The former interior minister said that funeral of PML-N took place yesterday and the party was buried by Asif Ali Zardari, and that prayers should be offered by Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Rasheed said that the establishment gained respect because of yesterday’s free, fair and transparent elections.

He added that the narrative of Imran Khan had reached every home.

PTI won 15 out of total 20 constituencies in Punjab’s by-polls on Sunday, which were held after de-seating of assembly members for violation of Article 63-A during the election of Punjab’s chief minister.

Meanwhile, a hybrid meeting of the central executive committee (CEC) of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was conducted through video-link under Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

During the CEC meeting, party members expressed their views and had a discussion on current political situation of the country.
