PML-Q appoints Chaudhry Salik Hussain as senior vice president

Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain who is son of party Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has been appointed as senior vice president of Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q).

PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has approved the appointment of Chaudhry Salik Hussain.

Secretary General Tariq Bashir Cheema has issued a notification for the appointment of Chaudhry Salik Hussain as the senior vice president of the party.

According to the statement issued the appointment of Chaudhry Salik Hussain has been approved in consultation with the Central Working Committee.

PML-Q has been witnessing a rift over party chairmanship. Chaudhry Pervez Elahi who is also Chief Minister of Punjab, in alliance with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), had few months ago annulled the party presidency of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain after a meeting was held.

The issue had risen when PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat’s letter was produced by the then deputy speaker Punjab Assembly Dost Mazari during voting on assembly floor but that was declared cancelled by court.

The case of party presidency has been pending in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Few days ago PML-Q Secretary General and Senator Kamil Ali Agha who is close aid of Pervez Elahi was removed in a notification that was issued by party. But Agha had refused to accept the notification and had announced to go to court.
