PMLN appoints Maryam Nawaz as Senior Vice President

PMLN leader and daughter of former PM Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz has been appointed as the senior vice president of PMLN.

Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb in a statement confirmed the news.

According to the minister of information, the party’s organizational choice has also been announced by the prime minister.

the notification of appointment stated, “Pursuant to the powers conferred under the Constitution of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, the undersigned is pleased to appoint Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif as “Senior Vice President” with immediate effect.”

According to the statement, Maryam also got the authority to reorganize the party at all functional tiers and levels in her capacity as chief organizer.

Earlier on May 3, 2019, Maryam was appointed to serve as one of the party’s 16 vice presidents.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), had expressed its concerns and contested her appointment.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who was the foreign minister at the time stated how a person who had received a court sentence could be named vice president.

Maryam had been very active in organizing public events and leading the party’s election campaigns in various cities.
