PMNH participates in World Museum Day with enthralling activites

The Pakistan Museum of Natural History (PMNH) marked International Museum Day on Thursday with the goal of highlighting the value of museums in fostering education and research as well as the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage.

According to the International Council of Museums, the purpose of this day is to increase public awareness of the importance of museums as effective venues for advancing peace and development on a global scale.

“Museums, Sustainability, and Well-being.”

This year’s International Museum Day theme focused on the vital contribution that museums provide to the advancement of sustainability and well-being ideas. By gathering, preserving, and displaying artifacts that recount the history of our planet and its various living forms, museums help to achieve these objectives.

Dr. Saima Huma Tanveer, Director General PMNH, said the Pakistan Museum of Natural History is a premier institution dedicated to preserving and promoting the natural and cultural heritage of Pakistan.

The museum offers excellent educational and research possibilities for both visitors and experts by showcasing a sizable collection of geological, paleontological, botanical, and zoological artifacts.

She reiterated PMNH’s commitment to continuing to be a center for education, study, and conservation for the general public and students.

The guests were led through several exhibitions displaying Pakistan’s rich natural heritage, including geological gems, unique flora and fauna, and cultural artifacts, by Dr.Shahid Mahmood Baig, Chairman of the Pakistan Science Foundation.
