Police on Thursday reached the residence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President and former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in Gulberg to arrest him.
The Punjab Police along with a team of anti-corruption departments raided the house of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President and former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi to arrest him.
Zahoor Elahi Road around Parvez Elahi’s house was closed to traffic, and the streets adjacent to Zahoor Elahi Road were also closed.
Elahi’s spokesman Iqbal Chaudhry said that Chaudhry Parvez Elahi is not present at home, at present only Chaudhry Parvez Elahi’s family is in the house.
On the other hand, anti-corruption officials said that according to the mobile location, Elahi is present in the house.
After a while, police and anti-corruption officials entered the house of Pervaiz Elahi, he said that the search warrant would be shown to the concerned person, SSP Sohaib Ashraf and SP Amara Shirazi, and Director Anti-Corruption Imran Ahmar were also with the officials.
There was no resistance on this occasion, after searching the house, the police and anti-corruption team went back.
The anti-corruption court today rejected the interim bail of Elahi.
After the interim bail was rejected, a heavy contingent of police reached Pervez Elahi’s residence in Gulberg.
Former Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi is facing a case of alleged corruption in development projects.
Earlier, media reported that efforts are currently underway to arrest Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former chief minister Punjab Parvez Elahi after his bail was canceled by an anti-corruption court in a graft case.
The judge revoked the bail after the PTI leader failed to show up in court. Elahi’s attorney stated that his client was unable to attend due to chest trouble.
