A new report by transparency international on Friday named the police as the most corrupt institute in Pakistan.
Transparency International Pakistan’s (TIP) National Corruption Perception Survey (NCPS) 2022 also named trading and contracting as the second most corrupt department.
Whereas, the department of judiciary got the third position on the list.
The report further named the education sector as the fourth most corrupt institution.
The report also expressed distrust in anti-corruption institutions including NAB.
The survey report declared the education sector had been named as the most corrupt in Sindh province.
Apart from this, the police in Punjab, the judiciary in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, tendering, and contracts in Balochistan were declared as the most corrupt institutions.
Karachi Education Secretary Akbar Laghari in this regard stated that he is not aware of any such report nor did transparency international have a meeting with me.
The education secretary also stated that if there is any such report I deny it.
He added that report should not be based on assumptions, if there are any evidence then prove it.
“The court has asked for daily monitoring of teachers, the recruitment process in the education department is transparent, if there is a complaint, we take action on it,” said Akbar Laghari.
