Policemen donate blood for children with thalassemia

Punjab Police, Sundas Foundation to work for treatment of thalassemia-affected children

Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that saving the life of one person is equal to saving life of the entire humanity.

In this spirit, the Punjab Police is not only engaged in protecting the lives and properties of citizens in all the districts of the province, but also a blood donation camp was organized at 10 places in various districts including the Central Police Office where hundreds of police personnel donated hundreds of blood bottles to children affected by thalassemia. IG Punjab said that, Punjab Police is also fully aware of its social responsibilities so the Punjab Police will ensure all possible support to give blood donations to the children affected by thalassemia.

Dr. Usman Anwar said that Punjab Police and Sundas Foundation will work together for the treatment of thalassemia-affected children of police employees and monthly stipend is also being given to the police employees for the treatment of such children.  He expressed these views while talking to the officers at the blood donation camp organized in collaboration with Punjab Police and Sundas foundation at the Central Police Office today.  In the camp, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar also donated a bottle of blood for thalassemia affected children. On this occasion, AIG, Development, Hasnain Haider, AIG Discipline, Ahsan Saifullah, AIG Ibadat Nisar, AIG R&D Syed Ali along with dozens of personnel and employees donated bottles of blood.

On behalf of Sundas Foundation, senior artist Khalid Abbas Dar expressed his gratitude to IG Punjab.  He said that the Punjab Police has always generously given donations for the children affected by thalassemia and the blood donation camp organized today is also a link in this chain for which we are thankful to the Punjab Police.  Khalid Abbas Dar said that the blood donated by the policemen will help in the treatment of hundreds of children.  DIG IT Ahsan Younis, DIG Welfare Ghazi Salahuddin and AIG Operations Dr. Asad Ejaz Malhi and other officers were also present on this occasion.

Separately, IGP Anwar has said that the officers and officials who help the oppressed by stopping the oppressors during duty are the pride and valuable assets of the department and no effort will  be spared in honoring them at all levels. Dr. Usman Anwar directed that the police teams to remain engaged with the spirit of dutifulness to eradicate crimes and provide services to the citizens in order to strengthen the atmosphere of trust between the police and public with excellent performance.

IG Punjab said that officers and personnel who are responsible for the good name of the department are being encouraged at all levels and this policy will be continued. He expressed these views while awarding prizes to the best performing officers and personnel in the Central Police Office. According to the details, IG Punjab continues to encourage the officers and personnel for their duty and excellent performance. In this regard, IG Punjab has awarded 19 officers and personnel with cash prizes and certificates of appreciation worth around 28 lakh rupees. These awards have been given to the officers and personnel who have rendered brave, dutiful and honest service in different districts of the province.

SHOs of Rajanpur police namely Ibrar Ahmad and Imran Jameel have been encouraged with 115,000 each along with a CC1 certificate. Similarly, SHOs of Rahim Yar Khan Police namely Naveed Nawaz and Said Ullah have been awarded 115,000 each with a CC1 certificate.  IG Punjab honored Rahim Yar Khan Police ASI Ejazul Nabi and Constable Mohammad Amir with 126500 each along with CC1 Certificate. Sub-Inspectors Aamir Shahzad, Zubair, Head Constable Khurram Shahzad and Constable Muhammad Tayyab of Lahore Police were given one lakh reward each with CC1 Certificate.  Bhakkar Police Constable Ali Haider, Zahid Maqsood and Zafar Iqbal were given one lac rupees each along with CC1 certificate. Likewise, Mianwali Police SHO Mohammad Fayaz was encouraged with 575,000 reward and CC1 certificate, similarly Head Constable Amjad Faraz got 172500, Ameer Abdullah got 115000 and Azizullah got 287500 along with CC1 certificates.

Whereas, ASI Faisal Shahzad and Constable Zahid Nawaz were awarded Rs 15,000 each and CC1 certificate. IG Punjab directed all the awards recipients to ensure that they discharge their duties with more diligence and conscientiousness than before.  He said that all the officers and personnel should keep the doors of their offices open for the citizens and spare no effort in solving the problems with good manners, sincerity and duty.
