Political engineering in elections won’t result good, Imran warns

PDM has become mere drawing room party, PTI Chairman meets journalists

Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has said that they had no contact with the establishment at the time and if any political engineering would be done in the next general elections then the results will not be good.

Criticizing the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) the former prime minister said the PDM had become a mere drawing-room party.

Imran Khan has lashed out at the government saying that the issue of bringing a technocrats government was being discussed.

The newly elected governing body of The Lahore Press Club and senior journalists met PTI Chairman Imran Khan at his residence where he said that more than the government it was necessary for the people sitting behind to agree to the election.

Talking about the elections he said that he did not see elections happening right now. He said that the mandate of the largest party in East Pakistan was not accepted.

Criticizing former Army Chief General (retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa, Imran Khan said that he had done great injustice to the country and it was now standing close to bankruptcy. He said that their government had good relations with General Bajwa but for him the corruption of politicians was meaningless.

He said that there was a risk of five percent bankruptcy in our government which has now increased to 90 percent. He said that Pakistan’s problems could not be solved without establishing the rule of law.

Imran Khan said that transparent elections were the only solution to stability in the country. He further said that Hussain Haqqani was taking money from Pakistan but was lobbying there against the government.

Imran Khan said that if talks will not be held with Afghanistan then the wave of terrorism could increase in the country. He also added that the way media used to speak on inflation during PTI government time was silent now.
