Politicians slam anti-military remarks by PTI social media teams

PPP, PML-N leaders demand notice be taken of remarks made against army, ISI

Numerous politicians have demanded that Prime Minister Imran Khan and the judiciary act against the anti-military remarks made by a leader of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party.

Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said that the PM’s social media team’s and its lawmakers’ propaganda campaigns involving criticism of the army’s neutrality must be noticed.

“It should be taken notice of, be it through the ISPR or our judiciary. We will not let such propaganda succeed,” he said.

Bilawal said, “The time has come when the media is talking about a neutral environment, and Imran and his social media team are trying to spread propaganda that institutions are not neutral, be it through provocation or creating a constitutional crisis.”

Meanwhile, PPP’s Secretary Information Faisal Karim Kundi also called for a notice to be taken of PTI’s Kanwal Shauzab’s comments against the army and ISI. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Malik Ahmad Khan also slammed PTI’s social media team saying they could not be allowed to smear the military’s image.

Khan questioned whether a country’s survival could be possible if its army was insulted. He added that only a strong army could guarantee a strong country.
