PPP target in Punjab is 30 National Assembly, 60 Provincial Assembly seats

With the announcement of elections in Punjab, political parties in the province seem to be engaged in political manipulation related to the election. The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is planning to field ‘heavyweight’ candidates to win maximum seats in South Punjab and Central Punjab.

The PPP leadership is once again making a strategy to take as many seats in Punjab as can give them a comfortable position for power in the federation and for forming a government together with the PML-N in Punjab.

According to People’s Party leader Hasan Murtaza, “People’s Party leadership wants to field candidates in seats where there are more chances of success instead of focusing on all the seats across the province.” For this, Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari are busy ensuring success by bringing together different political personalities.

On the other hand, according to the analysts, the way the leadership of the PPP is preparing to contest the elections in Punjab, it does not seem that they can get the position of forming the government in the province. Of course, by targeting the seats of the national and provincial assemblies, the party will definitely get adequate representation in the Punjab House to increase the numbers in our federation.

Targets

PPP Punjab Secretary General Hasan Murtaza said that in recent times, the leadership of the People’s Party has been manipulating to land strong candidates from Punjab on the target seats and make them successful.”

He says that their target is to make our candidates successful in 30 National Assembly and 60 Provincial Assembly seats from Punjab so that we can have our own prime minister in the federation and play a role in forming a coalition government together with the PML-N in Punjab. To make this plan a success, various strong candidates are being shortlisted.

Hassan Murtaza said that the results of the last elections make it clear that the People’s Party can achieve its target by fielding ‘better’ and ‘heavyweight’ candidates in many seats. “We will compete with all the parties in Punjab, but we will also make way for those who are ready to cooperate with us.”

He said that in South Punjab, the People’s Party has won many seats in the past and will win in the future as well. Therefore, our biggest target is South Punjab, there are also heavyweight candidates and efforts are being made to increase their number through alliances.

There is no doubt that the People’s Party used to be the party that won the most seats in Punjab, so they still exist here in one form or another.
