President Dr. Arif Alvi returned the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Election Amendment Bill without approval.
While refusing, the President directed the federal government to review the NAB and Election Amendment Bills.
The implementation of both the laws requires the approval of the President but after the decision of the President, the government will present both the bills in the joint sitting of the Parliament.
The federal government will introduce bills under Article 75 of the Constitution.
It may be recalled that the Parliament had recently abolished EVM and Overseas Voting under the Election Amendment Bill 2022 while reducing the powers of NAB through the NAB Amendment Bill.
