Pro-TTP Twitter accounts launch campaign against Mufti Taqi Usmani

Pro-Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Twitter accounts has launched a campaign against the renowned scholar Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani after he declared in a Fatwa (decree) on Monday that any violent activity against the state of Pakistan is prohibited by Islamic law and is therefore a rebellion and haram.

In a statement, the spokesperson for Jabhat Ansar al-Mahdi Khorasan criticized Mufti Taqi Usmani’s fatwa and claimed that his opinions “had no substance according to Shariah.” The declaration urges Islamic scholars to either back militant causes or remain mute or neutral.

A Twitter user with a blue verified badge stated that the constitution is British law, but this man calls it Islamic law, and war against it is illegal.

A pro-TTP account attacked Mufti Usmani in his tweet.

Another Twitter account named Mufti Usmani as “Mufti of England”.

A social media user said that the missing version of the constitution of the Islamic system was found and according to Taqi Usmani the constitution of Pakistan is a law equal to Sharia.

The social media accounts of the TTP are severely criticizing Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani saying that he could not utter a single word against atrocities. According to analysts this could be a serious threat to the security of Mufti Usmani and needs to be addressed.
