Prominent TV actor Tanveer Jamal loses life to cancer

Prominent Pakistani television actor Tanveer Jamal, with more than 35 years on the screen, died on Wednesday in Japan due to cancer at the age of 60.

Due to deteriorating health from cancer, Tanveer was shifted to Japan in May this year. His cancer was diagnosed in 2016; however he recovered from it and started working in TV dramas again.

Tanveer was diagnosed with cancer again a few months ago. Last year, when he was on set during the shooting of a play, he had fallen ill.

He was also awarded with the Outstanding Performance Award by Pakistan Television (PTV). Tanveer Jamal had initially earned a reputation through his acting and later he started direction and production as well. He started his production company in 1993.
