PSX loses 67 points to close at 42,458 mark

The KSE 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Wednesday lost 67.81 points, a slight negative change of 0.16 percent, closing at 42,458.14 points against 42,525.95 points on the last working day.

A total of 266,090,670 shares were traded during the day compared to the trade of 300,592,921 shares the previous day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs8.468 billion against Rs9.471 billion on last trading day.

As many as 336 companies transacted shares in the stock market, 133 of them recorded gain and 176 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 27 companies remained unchanged.

The three top trading companies were Pak Refinery with a volume of 23,874,098 shares and price per share of Rs18.98, TPL Properties with volume of 23,154,358 and price per share of Rs21.97 and Cnergyico Pk with volume of 16,793,997 and price per share of Rs5.56.

Pak Tobacco witnessed a maximum increase of Rs56.98 per share, closing at Rs955.98 whereas the runner up Nestle Pakistan, the share prices of which climbed up by Rs20.08 to Rs5,900.08.

Colgate Palm witnessed maximum decrease of Rs106.67 per share closing at Rs2,118.33 followed by Sapphire Fiber, the share price of which declined by Rs88.90 to close at Rs1,110.10.
