PTI announces to challenge ECP’s decision in SC, calls for protests in cities

ECP’s attitude had been worst, never pinned hopes, Fawad; We were always worried about decisions of this nature, Shah Mehmood

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has decided to challenge the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the Toshakhana Reference.

PTI has also given a call for protests in different cities. According to media reports, the party has called its workers and supporters to gather at different points to stage protests against the decision. Former prime minister Imran Khan was announced disqualified in the decision.

Fawad Chaudhry said that the disqualification was announced for the current seat and it will not affect Imran Khan’s other seats. Reacting strongly to the party chairman’s disqualification, Fawad Chaudhry slammed the ECP. He said that the attitude of ECP had been the worst and they had never pinned any hopes on it.

Fawad also said that it was a shameful decision as they have shamed the 220-million-strong-nation. He also termed the decision as an assault on the institutions of Pakistan.

Shehbaz Gill has said that Imran Khan has protected every asset of the country. Talking to media outside ECP, he said that the case was not under ECP jurisdiction and it will be quashed in the Supreme Court.

PTI’s senior leader and party secretary general Asad Umar said that PTI will file a petition against the decision in the Supreme Court of Pakistan today. He also said that the petition will be filed as soon as a copy of the decision will be available.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that ECP did not even have the right that was exercised. He said that they were always worried that a decision of this nature will come.

Usman Dar stated in a tweet that the time for revolution has come.
