PTI blames Sindh govt for flood victims’ plight

PTI MPA Khurram Sherzaman and President of PTI Sindh Region Ali Zaidi visited the flood-affected areas of district Thatta and Sujawal and observed the flow of water at the historical Dulah Dariya Khan bridge of the Indus River that is flowing to the brim.

During their visit, they met with the flood-affected families and assured them of their complete support. While talking to media persons in Thatta they said the Sindh government was responsible for the plight of the flood-affected population of Sindh as they had not taken concrete steps to provide relief to them. They further alleged that the PPP government had failed completely and the poor masses had no expectations from these rulers.

Sher zaman claimed that neither the provincial nor the federal government was capable of dealing with the persisting situation. He further said that the governments are not even able to determine the actual scale of devastation caused by the flooding and downpours. “Karachi is the heart of Sindh and we are here to help our people but where are the feudal lords of Sindh,” said Ali Zaidi who added that PTI would form its government in Sindh as well in 2023.

Answering a question about PTI’s political strategies Zaidi said that they never had any lust for power and despite all sorts of conspiracies PTI would return to power again. Hitting out at the federal government he said that ARY (a private TV channel) had been a robust voice of the people and the current government had suppressed it which showed that their claims of upholding democracy were bogus. “PTI will work for the freedom of speech in this country,” he vowed and added that those media persons who had left the country following victimisation would return after PTI’s return to power.

Khurram Sherzaman said that more torrents were likely to enter the barrages of Sindh in the coming days but the sitting provincial government is incapable of dealing with the situation and that the condition of flood-affected families in Sujawal and Thatta was pitiful.
