PTI candidate wins by-polls in NA-33 Hangu

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate has won the by-election in NA-33 Hangu, according to the unofficial and unconfirmed results on Sunday.

According to unofficial and unconfirmed results from all the polling stations in the National Assembly constituency, PTI candidate Nadeem Khan secured 21,583 votes, while Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) candidate Mufi Ubaidullah remained the runners-up with 17,153 votes.

It may be noted that in 2018, the PTI won the seat with a lead of 800 votes, and in 2022 by-polls, the PTI retained it with a lead of almost 4,500 votes.
The polling process started at 8 am and concluded at 5 pm without any break.

The seat got vacated following the death of PTI MNA Khayal Zaman.

The ECP said that 210 polling stations were established for the by-polls. The ECP had set up 64 polling stations for men and 55 polling stations for women.

Moreover, 110 polling stations were declared sensitive, while 77 were declared highly sensitive.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja had warned that no interference in the polling process would be tolerated, and strict action would be taken against the violators.
