PTI Chairman to be nominated in GHQ attack case

It has been decided to nominate the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman in two cases of May 9, including the GHQ attack case.

According to sources, with the addition of new sections in the cases, the PTI chairman will be named as the planner. It has been decided to add more sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act in cases of attacks on defence and security installations.

The PTI Chairman will also be named as an accused after the new provisions are added.

Sources further said that in case of arrest, the PTI Chairman will be charged with planning attacks on sensitive places, inciting activists and the accused will be named in the light of the statements of the accused under investigation.

According to sources, the decision to nominate PTI Chairman as an accused was taken yesterday.

Legal experts were also consulted before the decision. A case of attack on the office of a sensitive institution has been registered in New Town police station while the GHQ case is registered in RA Bazar police station.
