PTI has reservations about neutrality of ECP: Shah Mehmood Qureshi

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the party had reservations about the neutrality of the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Addressing a press conference, Qureshi said that elections were postponed to hide the political position of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). He added that PPP was apprehensive and soon the party would be exposed.

He also said that polling stations that were identified were functional and had no stagnant water. He added that the PTI had reservations about neutrality of the ECP.

The PTI leader also said that his party had serious respect for the judiciary.

ECP had postponed by-polls in 13 constituencies. The elections have been postponed due to the flooding situation in different areas of the country.

The constituencies where elections have been postponed include both national and provincial assembly seats.

ECP, in its statement, had said that because the institutions and law enforcing agencies have been busy in relief and rehabilitation activities, therefore, the by-polls in the 13 constituencies have been postponed.
