Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has issued a show-cause notice to former defence minister Pervaiz Khattak for encouraging party members to leave the party.

According to a PTI statement, action has been initiated against Pervaiz Khattak at the party level and central secretary general Omar Ayub has issued him a show cause notice.

The show cause notice states that you are encouraging members to break away from the party by establishing contact, so file your detailed reply regarding this impression within seven days.

The statement also said that action will be taken if the response is not satisfactory or refrains from responding to the notice.

It may be recalled that former defense minister Pervaiz Khattak had announced to quit the party chairmanship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in a press conference.

He had said that for many days he had been watching the political situation in the country, and have already condemned the incidents of May 9. He also said that the political atmosphere of the country was very bad, and it was difficult to continue in this environment.
