The news circulating on social media about Mian Mahmood Rashid’s transfer to Lahore District Jail is baseless and false.
According to jail authorities, Mian Mahmood Rashid is currently in good health and receiving all necessary medical facilities.
Officials have clarified that after obtaining approval from the Punjab government, Mian Mahmood Rashid was transferred to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology on July 22, 2023, for an “Echocardiography” test. After the examination by the consultant professor, he was brought back to the jail on the same day.
Officials have stated that such unfounded and malicious news is an attempt to tarnish the image of the Punjab government and the Punjab Jail Department.
