PTI Sindh President Ali Zaidi quits politics & resigns from party positions

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh President Ali Zaidi added his name to a long list of politicians who have resigned after declaring their resignation from their roles on Saturday.

Zaidi claimed in a video message that he had entered politics for Pakistan and had already denounced the events of May 9.

“We are proud of Pakistan’s armed forces, and we can rest easy knowing that they are guarding our borders. Whoever may have been engaged in what happened [on May 9] should be held accountable, urged the PTI leader, who was transferred to Jacobabad jail last week.”

The former federal minister claimed that he made the “difficult decision” to leave politics after giving it much thought.

“I’m giving up on politics. I’m leaving my roles as president, core committee member, and MNA of Tehreek-e-Insaf Sindh,” Zaidi declared.

Before entering politics, Zaidi stated that he would continue to “work for Pakistan and bring investments from abroad.”

“Before I got into politics, I used to bring foreign exchange to Pakistan, and I want to do that work again.”

The former federal minister concluded his video address by stating, “I am bidding farewell to politics.”

Zaidi was detained on May 9 by Section 4 of the Maintenance of Public Order Act, placed under house arrest, and had his home in the port city designated as a sub-jail.
