PTI supporters in Tharparkar being pressurised to change loyalty: SAPM

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Sindh Affairs Dr. Arbab Ghulam Rahim said on Tuesday that he, along with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters, would hold a big protest near Mithi on Wednesday against what he called police brutality and highhandedness.

Speaking to the media, the PTI leader said that he had asked party supporters to gather at Farngario bus stop to stage a big demonstration against the “reign of terror unleashed by police officials posted in the district on the behest of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders”.

He said that police officials had made living conditions for their supporters in Thar difficult on the directions of Sindh government high-ups and the leadership of the PPP, adding that their supporters were implicated in fake cases on fabricated charges so that they would change their loyalty.

Dr. Rahim said that him and other leaders of PTI would lead the peaceful protests against the brutalities of the police.

He added that any move to disperse the peaceful protesters would be resisted.

Dr. Rahim further demanded that Tharparkar SSP and other officials be removed.

PTI leaders, including former MNA Arbab Zakaullah , Arbab Anwar Jabbar, Krishan Sharma and others said that no option was available to them except taking to the streets.

They added that people from across the district would be participating in the protest to express their resentment, adding that their only agenda was to expose the true image of leaders of the PPP.
