The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to approach the Supreme Court (SC) immediately on the issue of President’s signature on the draft amendments to the Official Secrets Act and the Army Act.
Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has extended full support to President Dr Arif Alvi’s position at the national and judicial levels and said that the president’s stand on the process of ratification of the most important legal drafts requires extraordinary and serious steps in every respect.
The PTI spokesman said that through his tweet, the President has pointed out the deeply embedded disease in the state and government structure, during the last 16 months, the practice of deviation from the constitution, violation of the law, escape from democracy and subjugation of the state to personalities has been strengthened in Pakistan.
According to the PTI spokesman, the entire state machinery, including the Parliament and the Election Commission, was removed from the compliance of the constitution and gone at the behest of invisible forces.
He said that the swift arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan through a controversial court verdict and naked fascism against thousands of leaders and workers to crush the party is part of this chain.
“We strongly reiterate our demand for setting up of a judicial commission to conduct a high-level inquiry into the secret letter (cipher) sent by the Pakistani ambassador to the US,” he said.
