PTI unknowingly violated court orders, says Imran khan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has submitted his reply in the contempt of Court case to the Supreme Court stating that PTI didn’t knowingly violate SC orders.

During PTI’s previous long march Supreme Court issued clear instructions to PTI to keep its march near Peshawar between the H-9 and G-9 areas of Islamabad.

However, Imran and his demonstrators moved closer to D-Chowk causing the government to dispatch the army to secure the Red Zone of the federal capital.

Khan submitted his reply through his advocate Salman Akram Raja stating that He was not aware of the order on the evening of May 25th.

PTI chairman further added that in its order, the SC also asked lawyer Babar Awan to meet with me. Despite the court order, the administration did not facilitate the meeting.

In addition, Imran claimed that phone jammers made it hard for him to reach his counsel during the protest.

He also apologised for the mistaken action.

In his reply, Khan said, “In any case, the written order of 25 May 2022 does not specifically mention D-Chowk.”

The former premier stated that any act of violence that occurred on 25 May was the result of the State’s continuous brutality.

PTI chief also stated that people who were subjected to state aggression including tear gas shelling, reacted on their own in self-defence and to lessen the harm caused by tear gas.
