PTI withdraws petition to hold rally in Islamabad

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has withdrawn its request for approval to organize a rally in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) heard a petition from the PTI asking for approval to organize a sit-in and a rally. The petition was being heard when the attorney asked to withdraw it, which was later accepted by Chief Justice Aamer Farooq.

It is important to note that the PTI leadership has asked the government for security after deciding to hold a sit-in at Rawalpindi’s Faizabad Chowk.

A different location for the PTI sit-in has previously been offered by the Rawalpindi district administration and law enforcement agencies.

According to local media reports, PTI plans to hold a sit-in close to Faizabad. The administration of Rawalpindi and law enforcement agencies have suggested moving the site location to Allama Iqbal Park.

PTI senior leadership has requested extra time for consultations regarding the location change.

However, the PTI sit-in in Rawalpindi on November 26 is expected to have an impact on the security of critical buildings and the Pakistan-England cricket series. England will arrive in Islamabad on November 26.

The PTI Chairman Imran Khan will go to Rawalpindi by helicopter, and security measures from the aircraft to the stage are also being examined.
