PTV to premiere Yasir Akhtar’s film ‘Mujh Ko Pata Hai’ shot in London

Film is based on domestic violence against South Asian women in the west

PTV is all set to release Mujh Ko Pata Hai, a 100-minute-long film, the first of a series of 12 projects in the genre collectively titled as Multinational Films.

Helmed by singer, actor, director, and producer Yasir Akhtar, Multinational Films have been shot in Pakistan, USA, UK, UAE and Canada, also choosing artists from various cultural backgrounds to infuse as much diversity in the stories as possible.

Talking about Mujh Ko Pata Hai specifically, the film, as the producer tells, will star Yasir Akhtar himself along-with Manorma Joisi with Nimra Khan playing the character of a newly wed woman having arrived from Pakistan but trying to escape the brutalities of her debauched, London-based in-laws. The story will turn into an interesting sequence of events with Khan running into Akhtar, who will be playing a lawyer taking up her case of a domestically abused woman. Sonam Ubhi and Yasir Abbas, as Akhtar tells, will also be making an appearance in the film.

Mujh Ko Pata Hai has been shot by Prapti Mittal and Hayat Khan, while its soulful background music has been provided by Sohail Keys. The soundtrack of Mujh Ko Pata Hai has been performed by Yasir Akhtar himself, whose hit music videos such as My Love and O Sanam are still remembered and admired by the listeners. Two other tracks, Moray Nain and Meri Nazar have been performed by Wardah Lodhi and the music maestro Ustad Rafaqat Ali Khan, with both the songs complementing the storyline.
