A judicial magistrate on Tuesday sent to jail on 14-day judicial remand a teenager who allegedly killed his mother, two sisters and brother after he was stopped from playing the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PubG) game.

“The crime committed by the suspect is non-bailable,” observed the magistrate, and directed the police to submit a challan (investigation report) before the court soon.

During the proceedings, the investigation officer (IO) said that the probe in the case was completed and the weapon used to kill the accused’s family members was also recovered. He said that a DNA test of the suspect was also done.

The IO said that the suspect also confessed his crime and asked the court to send him to jail on judicial remand.

At this, the judicial magistrate sent the teenager to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.

The accused admitted his crime before the judicial magistrate at a previous hearing. He said that on the night between January 18 and 19, he took a pistol from the cupboard and killed his mother. He had said that he was already playing PubG and it had captured his mind.

He had stated, “I don’t know what happened to my mind that I took a pistol and killed my mother and other siblings.” He also said that after killing his mother, sisters and brother, he went to the first floor and slept.
