Pulwama disclosures

Four years ago, a terrorist attack on an army convoy in India-held Kashmir’s Pulwama led to recent revelations made by Satya Pal Malik, the former governor of Jammu and Kashmir. In an interview with journalist Karan Thapar, Satya Pal disclosed that the Indian government accused Pakistan of the attack without any evidence, and Prime Minister Modi was aware of this action but avoided taking any steps to prevent it for political gain in the elections. Despite the Ministry of Interior’s demands, no aircraft were provided for the military convoy.

Satya Pal also revealed that the Indian prime minister and national security adviser instructed him to keep silent on the matter, leading him to estimate that Modi wanted to gain an advantage in the elections by blaming Pakistan for the attack. The Pakistani Foreign Office’s spokesperson confirmed that Satya Pal’s disclosures align with the facts that the Indian leadership often exploits terrorism for political gain to advance their Hindu nationalist agenda.

The Modi government abrogated Article 370 of the Indian constitution in August of the same year, which further intensified the situation in Kashmir. The Indian government has officially blamed the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) for the Pulwama attack, but there is no conclusive evidence to support this claim.

However, some individuals in India have raised doubts and made allegations about the attack being an inside job. Some of the reasons cited include the fact that the attack took place on a highly secured highway and that there were reports of intelligence warnings about a possible attack, but they were not acted upon. Additionally, there have been allegations of political motivations behind the attack, as it took place just months before the Indian general elections.

It’s important to note that Mr Malik has put up concrete evidence to support his stance. The truth behind the Pulwama attack is now coming out and may soon be fully known.
