Punjab decides to run electric rickshaws on 50% tax subsidy

The Punjab cabinet has decided in principle to run electric rickshaws in the province.

According to details a meeting of the provincial cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi in which the rule of registration of electric vehicles was approved.

The Chief Minister said that electric vehicles will be given on a discount of up to 50 percent in the form of taxes.

Elahi approved the recruitment of 3,000 vacant posts of Punjab Police. The contract of Kamran Khan, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Punjab Safe City Authority has been extended for two years.

In-principle approval was given to the agreement of Punjab Safe City Authority with Huawei. Cabinet has approved the appointment of President of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Tribunal. Approval was also given to declare Sargodha and Bahawalpur as city areas of respective development authorities.

The cabinet has also directed sugar mills in Punjab to start crushing from November 25. The provincial cabinet approved to increase the support price of sugarcane to Rs300. Approval was also given to include Bank of Punjab in Ehsaas Ration Concession Program.
