The decision was confirmed by Information Minister Azma Bokhari and Housing Minister Bilal Yasin during a joint press briefing in Lahore.

Officials said nearly 30,000 mosques across Punjab will host Eid congregations, with strict monitoring and coordinated security operations in place.

The heightened security comes after a recent deadly attack in Balochistan and fresh intelligence warnings about possible militant activity in several regions, including major highways and sensitive locations.

Authorities stated that intelligence-based operations against banned groups, including “Fitna al-Khawarij,” are ongoing across the province to counter any potential threats.

The ministers said security forces have been placed on high alert, with special focus on religious gatherings, open prayer grounds, and public spaces during Eid.

They added that surveillance systems, control rooms, and rapid response units have been activated for real-time monitoring throughout the festive period.

Alongside security measures, the government has also announced strict enforcement against illegal activities such as unfit vehicles, overloading, kite flying, and dangerous stunts during Chand Raat.

Cleanliness arrangements have also been intensified, with the “Suthra Punjab” workforce fully mobilised and leave cancelled to ensure sanitation across cities and towns.

Officials further confirmed that over 21,000 sanitation workers will remain on duty during Eid, while water supply timings will be extended to facilitate citizens.

The government said all departments have been directed to remain in close coordination, ensuring uninterrupted civic services and security throughout the Eid holidays.

Authorities reiterated that provincial forces remain fully prepared to respond to any threat, while continuing ongoing operations against elements involved in destabilising activities.
