Punjab Govt refutes allegations of mistreatment of women prisoners

The Punjab caretaker government has refuted allegations of mistreatment of women prisoners involved in the May 9 terrorist attacks. Caretaker Information Minister Amir Mir said that the propaganda of the mistreatment of women is completely false and misleading.

“There is no mistreatment of women involved in the May 9 terrorist attacks,” Mir said. “A so-called political party is spreading poisonous propaganda about women for its nefarious purposes.”

Mir said that the women involved in the May 9 incidents imprisoned in Punjab jails are being treated according to the law. “Women prisoners themselves are testifying to good treatment,” Mir said. “Police is treating women in jails with courtesy according to law.”

Mir said that the person who planned the May 9 atrocity is trying to mislead the public as usual. “The attempt to gain cheap sympathy with false propaganda has failed,” Mir said. “People patronize evildoers.”

The Punjab government has released the details of the women arrested in the May 9 incidents. A total of 32 women were arrested in the May 9 incidents. Out of 32 women arrested and involved in terrorist incidents, 21 have been released. Currently, 11 women are imprisoned in Punjab jails on judicial remand.

Mir said that the propaganda of the mistreatment of women in jails by a political party is a lie. “The government is the biggest champion of women’s rights,” Mir said. “Islam also teaches us to honour and respect women.”

Mir said that he cannot even imagine mistreatment of women. “Provincial Minister Amir Mir said that action is being taken according to law against women involved in terrorist activities.”

Mir said that the government is committed to providing justice to all citizens, including women. “The government will not tolerate any kind of mistreatment of women,” Mir said. “The law will take its course against those who are found guilty of mistreating women.”
