Punjab govt to protect Imran Khan during Azadi March, says CM Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi stated that the provincial government will “guard” Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan as he makes his long march toward the capital.

Elahi was addressing the media in front of Gangaram Hospital’s recently finished mother and child block.

In response to a journalist’s inquiry regarding the goals of the PTI’s long march, CM stated that “you will see what the march has done in the coming few days.”

CM Elahi added that the PML-N government’s recent policies, particularly those made by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, were “all for TV right now” and that “it was all drama before.”

He continued, “Believe me; he knows nothing about how things are done. Whatever we are attempting to correct in Punjab now after the last 10-15 years is the product of Shahbaz Sharif’s decisions as chief minister.

He commended the provincial health minister, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, for her commitment and hard work.

The chief minister of Punjab reflected on the city’s development projects and remarked, “There was a fruit market in one place that I had rescued and now we are planning to establish a 400-bed emergency hospital.”

The CM stated that “we are going to construct a separate system for daily patients” and that “we are also planning to double the size of the Lahore wing of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology [PIC] and build an emergency block there as well.”

He announced that the Services Institute of Medical Sciences [SIMS] will be dismantled and a new hospital will be constructed there shortly.
