Punjab Police burst into Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence

Punjab police burst into Imran Khan’s home in Zaman Park as an operation to clear the neighborhood was started on Saturday as the former premier left for Islamabad to attend a court in the Toshakhana case.

Television footage showed cops entering the home after demolishing the front gate and apprehending many PTI workers.

The PTI leader is expected to appear before Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ) Zafar Iqbal’s bench to appear in proceedings regarding an election commission of Pakistan (ECP) complaint alleging that he withheld information about gifts from his asset declarations.

He said that Punjab police have launched an assault on his residence in Zaman Park where Bushra Begum is alone.

He further asked what legal authority they were acting upon. This is a component of the London Plan, where promises were made to install Nawaz Sharif as prime minister in exchange for consenting to one appointment, he said.

Following an agreement between the administration and the PTI on the search at Zaman Park, a sizable police contingent was stationed nearby.

Both parties finalized the details of the agreements, which were then presented to the Lahore High Court (LHC) including the conducting of rallies, the security of the PTI leader, and other legal issues.

According to the specifics, the PTI would work with the government to put the arrest and search warrants into effect.

Shibli Faraz and Ali Muhammad Khan have been named by the PTI as focal members, and SSP Imran Kishwar will speak for the police.

The PTI will work with the police to conduct an inquiry into cases involving conflicts that took place on March 14 and 15.

The roads connecting Zaman Park were blocked by the police by placing containers and placing barricades. Traffic Police Lahore also issued a traffic advisory regarding the closure of roads.

According to the advisory, the following roads were closed: Canal Road bridge was from Mall Road to Dharampura, towards Mall Road from Dharmapura, Sultan Pulli (Thandi Sarakd) from Sundardas Chowk, Sunderdas Chowk from Durand Chowk, Sultan pully (Thandi Sarak) Road from Mayo Garden.
