Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Friday said Punjab has finally been purged of the “looters” who “plundered the largest province ruthlessly to fill their own pockets”. The minister, in a news statement, accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi of robbing the resources of both Punjab and the Federation through their front-persons like Farah Gogi during the last four years. The residents of Punjab had now fully realised the persons who had purchased diamond rings with the government funds and did nothing for public good. “We will now kick the foreign agents, looters and front-persons out of Punjab with the power of vote,” she added. Marriyum said the sane and wise people of Punjab would never vote for those who had pushed the country into the economic quagmire, and reversed the process of progress and development in the province. Rather they would elect those who had a record of serving the masses since they were in a dire need of free education and healthcare facilities, besides quality road infrastructure. An era of prosperity would usher in Punjab with restart of the development process in the entire province, she added. Separately, Federal Minister for Interior Rana Sanaullah Khan said on Friday that the National Assembly, as well as the Sindh and Balochistan assemblies, will remain intact until August this year. “With the CM’s advice of dissolution, Imran’s bandit rule has ended in Punjab,” he claimed. Talking to a private news channel, Rana Sanaullah said that after dissolution, elections for both the KP and Punjab assemblies would be held within 90 days. “We will contest the elections and win them”. Opposing the option of general elections, the minister said how can we ask the governments of Sindh and Balochistan to dissolve the assembly? Rana further said that the coalition parties were not in favour of dissolving the assemblies as this was an undemocratic act. “There was a strong opinion in our party to let them dissolve the assemblies, but if it happens, we are ready for elections,” he added.
