Purpose of Imran’s march is to appoint army chief of his choice: Nawaz Sharif

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif said that the purpose of Imran Khan’s long march is to appoint the army chief of his choice and not revolution.

On Wednesday, Nawaz Sharif reacted to the announcement of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s long march by stating that the long march is not for any revolution.

He said that people have seen Imran Khan’s revolution in his 4-year government tenure.

He further said that Imran Khan, who calls others a thief, has himself proved to be the biggest thief in history with irrefutable evidence of foreign funding, Tosha Khana, and robbery of 50 billion.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan announced the long march to topple the federal government and seek transparent general elections.

Khan on Tuesday revealed that he will himself lead the long march from Lahore’s Liberty Roundabout on coming Friday at 11 am.

He was of the view that he has been doing politics for the last 26 years and his workers are peaceful, but any mischief cannot be ruled out at the hands of the federal government to create the situation of law and order.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday urged Imran Khan to avoid creating a law and order situation in the federal capital during protest demonstrations or long marches. Talking to a private television channel, he said all important measures were being taken to stop the PTI from disturbing the peace in the federal capital.
