Race for PTI tickets on ahead of polls

Before the general elections in Punjab, Pakistan’s most populous province, PTI candidates organized the election field among themselves at the Faisalabad level. Three to five candidates from each constituency are not only claiming to get their ticket confirmed, but efforts are being made to overpower each other to get the PTI ticket. There are also a lot of flexes of ticket contenders in every constituency and loud rallies to show their political power. Along with the establishment of political camps by the candidates, the election offices have also started opening, the party workers are suffering from anxiety and hesitation due to the clash between the candidates.

According to the details, after President Arif Alvi announced the holding of general elections in Punjab province on April 30, the candidates contesting on behalf of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf have also tightened their belts. The current situation in the provincial assembly constituencies is that three to five candidates have emerged from each constituency. While in some constituencies, the situation is such that up to ten candidates have come forward.

According to the party sources, former Provincial Communications Minister Ali Afzal Sahi is being considered as ticket confirmed by the party in Punjab Assembly Constituency PP 97 Faisalabad One. In PP 98, Afzal Sahi, father of former Provincial Minister of Communications Ali Afzal Sahi, as well as former district bar Presidents Fawad Cheema, Salim Jahangir Chatta, former provincial minister Dr. Shafiq and other leaders have also come forward.

Besides former MPA Chaudhry Ali Akhtar in PP 99, Waheed Niazi is also a candidate for the ticket, while from the provincial constituency PP 100, former provincial minister Chaudhry Zaheeruddin is considered to be a strong candidate for the ticket. Apart from them, Rai Haider Kharl, Ghulam Haider Bari are also trying for tickets. In PP 101, Rai Ejaz, Rai Usman, Raisat Ali and other candidates are continuing their campaigning. From PP 102, Ahsan Raza, Dawood Butt, Shamsher Haider are in the running for the Vito ticket. Apart from Excise Minister Hafiz Mumtaz, Arif Gill is also a contender in PP 103.

In PP 116, Mian Ali Sarfraz and Meher Tariq and in PP 117 against Khyal Castro, Secretary District Bar Rana MA Babar Khan is facing each other for the ticket.

Similarly, a few days ago, a list was also circulated on social media, in which it was claimed that the tickets of the National and Provincial Assembly had been confirmed. But later, with reference to this list, the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf made it clear that this list is completely fake. On the other hand, it is being claimed by some circles that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan prepared the final list of candidates who will compete with the opposition parties as PTI candidates in the general elections which will be released anytime.
