Ramiz Raja not thinking of quitting as of yet

Ramiz Raja, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has no plans to resign from his job, after doing remarkably well.

The newly-formed administration is also debating whether or not to dismiss the former cricketer, Minute Mirror has learnt.

Although many people desire Raja to quit on his own, but he has no plans of doing so.

As the new government has a lot on its plate and cricket is currently not one of the government’s top objectives.

Some close to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif want to be chairman, but the Patron-in-Chief has been silent on the issue.

As the current chairman is executing his job effectively, removing him from the office can lead the already troubled government into more trouble.

Imran Khan, the former Pakistan Prime Minister, has counselled Ramiz Raja about his future as Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Imran Khan was recently removed from office after losing a no-confidence vote in the national assembly.

“Ramiz Raja has total control over his destiny as Chairman of the PCB. Khan told the media in a meeting on Monday that he may stay if he wants to, and that his departure will be his personal choice. “Ramiz Raja is my player, and he’ll play till the end,” he continued.

Due to the previous PCB Chairman’s close links with current Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, some sources stated that Najam Sethi will succeed Raja if he decides to quit.

It must be noted that Ramiz was nominated by then-Prime Minister Imran Khan and elected as PCB Chairman uncontested in September 2021.
