SIALKOT: Rescue 1122, in collaboration with district departments, conducted its fourth mock flood exercise at Motra Canal to assess emergency preparedness and strengthen coordination among rescue and relief agencies in the event of flooding.
The exercise was organized under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Sialkot Owais Mushtaq on the special directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA). The nighttime drill was aimed at evaluating the effectiveness and response capacity of rescue and relief operations during a potential flood emergency.
In addition to Rescue 1122, the exercise was attended by representatives from the Health Department, Municipal Committees and Municipal Corporation, District Council, Civil Defence, WASA, Livestock Department, the Pakistan Army, and local non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
