The district administration sealed the famous Noori Restaurant on the bank of Keenjhar Lake.
The restaurant is named after the famous folk character Noori, who was a fisherwoman and who later tied the knot with Samma ruler Jam Tamachi. It was sealed over its staff’s unethical behaviour with a few families last week who had arrived there for a picnic.
A video of the staff teasing a few women went viral on social media and drew the attention of authorities, who took action and suspended seven staff members involved in the whole episode and registered a case against them at the Keenjhar Police Station.
District Commissioner Ghazanffer Ali Qadir told media persons that Keenjhar is a world-famous tourist resort and such activities would send a negative message to the world. The district administration, he said, would take stern action to stop such incidents in the future.
