Rupee sheds 02 paisa against dollar

The exchange rate of the Pakistani rupee depreciated by 02 paisa against the US dollar in the interbank trading on Friday and closed at Rs226.43 against the previous day’s closing of Rs226.41.

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollars in the open market were recorded at Rs233.6 and Rs235.6 respectively. The price of the euro was increased by 72 paisa and closed at Rs241.30 against the previous day’s closing of Rs240.58, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The Japanese yen gained two paisa to close at Rs1.71, whereas an increase of 57 paisa was witnessed in the exchange rate of the British pound, which was traded at Rs273.07 as compared to its last closing of Rs272.50. The exchange rates of the Emirates dirham and Saudi riyal remained unchanged to close at Rs61.65 and Rs60.20 respectively.
